What would you do?
Another Scenario

Lets look at this Scenario. Pretend you are Ricardo Carvalho.
Score 0-0.
You are in the closing seconds of the 94th minute in the Euro 2008 final. Your team goes out for a corner and on the corner Buffon clears it away. You then see yourself charging from midfield to a sprinting Luca Toni who has the ball about 40 yards away from goal. Its just him and the goalie. You are about 4 feet behind him and you are left with that quick decision. Slide from the back and get a red but stop Luca Toni and give Italy a last second free kick from outside the box or give-up and let him go one on one with the goalie? You cant choose to chase after him because with each step you fall further behind. The only thing to do is take a plunge at Toni or stop and let Ricardo take him alone.

The Final will definately not be those teams....but if it was I would slide Toni because Ricardo cannot take him.

If I was in the final , I would slide , plus why did you choose one of the slowest players in the whole tournament , I mean evra caught up with him and he was like 4 feet behind.

I would foul because if the game goes into ET/penalties what is the chances that a defender would end up taking the shot.
And also you could then make a sub.
Take out a midfielder for a defender and change the formation.

It depends.If we are winning by 2 i chase after him. If we are tied I foul and if we are losing i foul.

I would foul the other player. Its 90% chance that if I let him go, we will give up a goal...

Take the red. It's not guarenteed that the goalie would save us.
